Overview

The D’Aguilar Highway (Yarraman – Kingaroy) is a key transport route between Yarraman and the New England Highway in the Toowoomba Regional Council area and Kingaroy in the South Burnett Regional Council area.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is investigating options for widening and strengthening a section of the D’Aguilar Highway between south of Nanango and South Street in Nanango township, as well as road safety treatments to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes.

Road safety treatments being considered include audio tactile line marking, reflective pavement markers, wide centre line treatments, installation of roadside barriers, clearing of roadside hazards and intersection improvements.

This project will enhance safety, traffic flow and efficiency on the D’Aguilar Highway.

As part of the planning process, TMR is seeking input from the Nanango community and road users about issues and priorities for this section of road.

TMR will consider the input together with technical data when identifying and assessing options for the future upgrade.

Key considerations will include road safety and efficiency improvements, road design standards, value for money outcomes, social factors (including impacts on property, environment, heritage and community amenity) as well as the ability to address additional issues identified through community consultation.

Community feedback will inform funding considerations for the future upgrade.
