Overview

Moreton Bay is an important and growing region in South East Queensland. It is projected to be home to a further 160,000 people over the next 10-15 years, taking its total 2036 population to more than 675,000*. A significant portion of this growth is expected to occur in a few key areas, most of which are located within 5 kilometres of an existing train station.

To help plan for this growth, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking the Caboolture-Dakabin Station Access Study. The study seeks to improve access to and around Caboolture, Morayfield, Burpengary, Narangba and Dakabin train stations, and will consider all transport modes, whether that be walking, riding a bike or e-scooter, catching the bus, taking a taxi or rideshare, or driving. This study is an important step towards a more accessible and integrated public transport network in the Moreton Bay region.

Consultation feedback will help shape solutions that improve transport access and options to the study's train stations and better accommodate planned growth over the next 10 years.* Queensland Government Statistician's Office, medium series.
